Curzon Community Cinema

The town's Cinema is in Old Church Road and is making plans for a major renovation, which will provide 2 screens, a cafˆ©, function room and new entrance. Fundraising is well underway and applications to try to obtain grant funding are being progressed, along with match funding from local councils.

Bowling

Public Bowling facilities are available at the Clevedon Promenade Bowling Club which is situated off Elton Road.

Both clubs have the honour of having as a member Mr David Bryant, CBE, who has brought fame to himself and the town, by being World Bowls Champion on more than one occasion, both indoors and outdoors. He was born in Clevedon and continues to reside in the town.Clevedon and District Blind Bowlers Club, who use the facilities at the Clevedon Promenade Bowling Club, have in the past provided a member for the English Team.

Is catered for by Clevedon and District Road Club.

Golf

Clevedon Golf Club, a private club, has an eighteen hole course located off Castle Road.There is a public golf driving range at Lower Strode Road.

Gymnastics

A BAGA based artistic gymnastic club for girls and women meets on a regular basis both at Strode Sports Centre and the YMCA.Classes for the over 55's are held in Strode Sports Centre and are enthusiastically supported.A popular Gymnastics Club meets throughout the week at their hall in Old Street, junction with Meadow Road.

Hockey

Clevedon is well served by mens and ladies teams. An all-weather flood-lit pitch is situated at Clevedon Sports Centre.

Horse Riding

There are equestrian centres on the outskirts of the town.

Rugby

Clevedon Rugby Club runs several senior, colts and junior teams and have two pitches on Coleridge Vale Playing Fields.

Sailing

Excellent sailing can be enjoyed in Clevedon Bay and there is a public slipway off The Beach, in close proximity to Clevedon Sailing Club. There is an enthusiastic cadet section in the club.

Tennis

Public Tennis Courts are available at the Clevedon Swiss Valley Sports Centre and the Promenade Leisure area.


Clevedon Lawn Tennis Club is situated in North Somerset just five minutes drive from the M5, junction 20. It was established in 1880 and is believed to be the 2nd oldest tennis club in the UK and one of the oldest in the world.

Aerobics

Classes are held in the Strode Sports Centre (Tel: 01275 879242) and various other venues around the town.

Angling

There is freshwater and sea fishing facilities. The end of the Pier is also a popular place to fish.
Athletics

Community Centres

These are situated in Sunhill Park, Princes Road and in Millcross off Southern Way. There are many church halls around the town that are also the focus for community events. For young people there is The Barn, Great Western Road, which has a drop-in facility and holds various youth based community activities.

Strenuous efforts provided a building, on Great Western Road, for a purpose-built Youth Centre-called The Barn. Clevedon School has a Youth Wing for young people.
Other Clubs

There are 54 clubs in Clevedon which cater for young people with a wide range of interests such as sports, first aid, computers, dancing, Majorettes, music and Sub Aqua to name but a few. There are 6 Church based Youth Clubs and the YMCA premises can be found in Marson Road. Air Training Corps, Army Cadet Force, Boys Brigade, Brownies, Cubs, Girl Guides and Scouts are well provided for in the town.
